Liverpool Victoria (LV), which trades as LV=, is one of the biggest car insurers in the UK

Liverpool Victoria was dropped as the consumer facing name in 2007 and replaced by LV= though it remains the legal name for most of the products within LV insurance.

LV car insurance also offer some more specialist policies, such as electric car insurance and Multi car insurance.

Electric car insurance

Their electric car insurance offers the same cover as Comprehensive cover with the addition of covering charging cables, wall boxes, batteries and adaptors.

They also cover you for running out of charge when you’re on the go – they’ll get you to a charging point.

If you are leasing your electric car battery separately, you’ll still be covered for accidental damage, fire and theft. If you have an electric car, it’s worth look at tailored insurance to ensure you’re covered for EV specific problems that could arise.

Multi car insurance

LV insurance also offer Multi car insurance, where you can add up to 6 cars and 12 drivers on just one policy.

You’ll save 12.5% on each car added to the policy and you can add vehicles at any time – you can set a date in the future to add your vehicle and still receive a discount. According to LV, it’s the cheapest way to get annual cover.

Other policies

Experienced drivers over 50 can benefit from their over 50s car insurance, whilst those at the start of their driving experience can use their Learner driver insurance.

How to make changes to, or cancel LV car insurance

If you need to make a change to your LV insurance, such as changing your vehicle, or you need to cancel, you can get in touch via the LV car insurance contact number:

You can also use online chat, or their cancellation form. If you cancel before your policy starts, you won’t be charged or pay a fee. If you cancel within 14 days of your policy starting you’ll be charged for the time you’ve been insured. If you cancel after 14 days, you’ll also be charged a £40 fee. [2]
